Saari was born in New York City in 1951 and graduated from the graduate school of Yale University School of Art in 1976. He has also Studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and at the Tyler School of Art in Rome.
   
Peter Saari creates by analyzing the conception of classical wall painting and decoration, and then reconstructs the ancient art with his own personal style. Saari uses Canvas, Plywood, Acrylic and Plaster to produce works that resemble the old, the brokendown and mysterious. Saari believes that there is a relationship between modern art and these objects of antiquity, and is quoted as saying: " The art of the past changes our attitude towards it. Every period sees the art through a differently conditioned set of eyes."
