Guillermo Silva Sanz de Santamaria Painter, sculptor, engraver, writer and Yoga teacher, Guillermo Silva was born on June 7th, 1921, in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied privately with the French artist Pierre Daquet, working in the impressionistic style. He later studied engraving at the School of Esmeralda in Mexico City. His works are in collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Arts, the Library of Congress, and many others.
When he was forty years old, he married Maria Galindo, a beautiful Mexican girl. They had two children together; a son Juan, and a daughter Sandra. While living in Mexico City as a Master Engraver, he taught engraving at UNAM and the Ibéro-Americain University. While there he developed the technique of Intaglio and "Mixed Technique" etching with watercolor. He then moved to India with his family. While living there for 10 years, he studied Yoga. He eventually became a Yoga teacher and a competent naturalist. While traveling all over the world.
