Tito Salomoni (1928-1989) Italy,
"The Book of Life"
Tito Salomoni (1928 -1989), "The Book of Life"

Oil on Canvas in original frame

What Mr. Salomoni does best is to see inside objects beyond wall, fabrics, beyond the very bone and flesh structure of man to extract the very essence, the thoughts, in a counter play of illusion. He digs into space and opens objects with the curiosity of a child who breaks his toy to discover the secrets hidden in it's mechanism which are some much more fascinating than it's external appearance; thereafter he stands outside time and creates endless links with the tangible world, the world which he sees and wants to reveal to us.

Tito's unique surrealistic paintings create a world filled with mysterious and compelling images, beckoning you to step into them with your mind's eye and unlock the hidden meanings. His award-winning work has been featured on many international magazine covers.
Salomoni won numerous prestigious awards, including a Silver Medal from UNESCO, First Place Award from PHI DELTA KAPPA, and the coveted Letter of Science in the Arts from the ITALIAN ART ACADEMY. He is also listed in Arte Italiano Per II Mondo (Italian Art in The World). Recently his art has appeared on many international magazine covers, inside story illustrations, and important science fiction book covers.

Salomoni was born in Ferrara in 1928 and began painting surrealist works in 1968. During his career he held individual exhibitions throughout Italy, as well as the United States and France.

Tito Salomoni devoted himself to surrealism for more than twenty years begining in 1968. He succeeds through the effectiveness of his colors as well as through the dream-like imagination which is the characteristic element of surrealist painting.

The work of Salomoni takes the shape of a charade and the spectator is given the task of finding the answer. The artist, for his part, seeks and nearly always succeeds to see inside objects, beyond walls, fabrics, beyond the very bone structure of men to extract from them the essence, the thoughts, in a counterplay of illusion, pregnant with meaning.
