Edgard Bermeo (20th Century) Columbia, "Jardin de la Casa 1"
Edgard Bermeo (20th Century) Columbia
Studied painting and sculpture at the National Arts School of Columbia in Bogota. For two consecutive years he received the top prize in Columbia’s National Arts show.
Although he now lives and works in NYC, the memories of his native land’s extraordinary flora are very evident in his work, as “Jardin De la Casa” (The Garden at Home) makes clear. Bermeo has an uncanny ability to capture and interpret the intensity of visual impressions.
Here, for example, he evokes the senwe of wonder and awe that anyone must surely feel on beholding a garden in full bloom.
