Landscapes inc water

Superbly photorealistic framed landscape oil by Guy Charman. It measures 19"x22.5", and is in outstanding condition save for a couple of very minor abrasions on the fine period frame. The painting likely dates from the 1950s, and the subject looks to be the Canadian Rockies in western Alberta.  The painting itself has a startling realism. There is so much attention to detail and lighting that the effect is that of a painted postcard. This is an outstanding painting by a superb artist.

Born in a suburb of Barcelona, Spain, Elvira started to paint at a very early age of fourteen. Her attraction to the arts was so great that it became a necessity to realize her dream of becoming an artist.. She attended the D´art l´Escola Massana of Barcelona in 1965. In 1969 she studed painting at the Academy Joan Baixas in Barcelona.  When she finished at the Academy she entered the Cercle Artistic de Sant Lluc in 1971. Her craft was further enhanced by working in Perugia and Florence, Italy.  She has exhibited in numerous shows throughout Europe.

Quality early Nevada oil by highly regarded American Impressionist, George W. Picknell. 12 x 16 signed LL. This piece was done near Minden Nevada, depicting the poplars along the viaduct/irrigation ways that run through that area. All palette knife on old Windsor Newton beveled wood panel in excellent condition. Obviously done in the true "plein aire" style. Quality metal leaf frame. Vera is originally from Czech Republic but now lives near Melbourne, Australia.  Her work includes very local themes like the beautiful and colorful Galah Parrots and wonderful expressive felines.   Galahs are usually thought of as being playful birds and seem to enjoy doing spins and aerobatics when flying, and hanging upside down when they land in trees or on wires.  Her work has been featured in recent art auctions in Australia that included “Conversations with Dolphins".
